Test Cases
Test cases are grouped by types, such as HTTPS, IPsec, DDoS and RFC 2544. These groups contain a number of tests which focus on specific demands such as throughput, sessions, or number of packets, for example. ForiTester's user interface makes it easy to create, customize and run a test. Helpful diagnostic messages on case start-up help you identify any configuration errors in your device under test.
Test Center Mode
There are two major software components in FortiTester, which are the traffic generator and the test cetner. The traffic generator is the engines and assigned CPU cores and physical interfaces. The test center is the user interface and test case configuration and management. In standalone mode, test center uses the local traffic generator. In test center mode, test center connects to the local traffic generator and remote traffic generators on other FortiTesters. This extends test center to 2 or 4 traffic generators controlled by a primary device. This datasheet includes values for standalone as well as 2 and 4 device test center configurations.
